The Wellbeing to Work programme 6/12 weeks looks at the emotional and psychological barriers that can sometimes make moving towards work feel difficult. It is not about telling you how you should feel or forcing you to share personal experiences. It is about understanding yourself better, trying practical strategies and identifying what may help you move forward.

Rebuilding Confidence & Self-Esteem programme is a structured six-week psychologically informed group for participants whose low confidence, self-doubt or loss of self-esteem is affecting engagement with training, employability support, interviews or work.

Reclaiming Safety programme is a six-week trauma-informed group for adults whose experience of domestic abuse continues to affect safety, confidence, identity, relationships, routine or movement towards employment. It is designed for welfare-to-work and community partners as a specialist recovery pathway, not as a substitute for specialist domestic abuse advocacy, legal advice or crisis intervention.
During the six weeks we will explore:
Rhema Counselling is a registered charity providing professional, accessible and affordable counselling and wellbeing support. We offer a safe, confidential and non-judgmental space where people can explore difficulties, strengthen their emotional wellbeing and work towards positive change.
We primarily support adults experiencing mild to moderate mental-health or emotional difficulties. We welcome people from all backgrounds, beliefs and circumstances.
We also accept referrals from employers, colleges, employment-support providers, charities, community organisations and other partner services.
Our counsellors can support people experiencing:
• Anxiety and stress
• Depression and low mood
• Bereavement and loss
• Trauma and difficult past experiences
• Low confidence and self-esteem
• Relationship difficulties
• Workplace stress
• Redundancy or unemployment
• Major changes and life transitions
• Difficulties returning to or remaining in employment
You do not need to have received a formal mental-health diagnosis.
Yes. From 24 September 2026, Rhema will provide regular face-to-face counselling clinics through a local partner venue in Skegness.
Online appointments will also remain available for people who cannot attend the venue or would prefer to receive support remotely.
Rhema provides face-to-face counselling from its established locations and approved partner venues. We also offer secure online and telephone counselling, allowing us to support people across a wider geographical area.
Please contact us to discuss the most suitable option and current availability.
Rhema aims to offer counselling within ten days of the initial consultation, subject to availability and finding a counsellor whose experience and working hours are suitable for your needs.
No. You can contact Rhema directly and refer yourself.
We also accept referrals from GPs, social-prescribing teams, colleges, employment providers, employers, charities and other partner organisations.
We will arrange an initial conversation to:
• Hear a little about your circumstances
• Explain how counselling may help
• Discuss your preferences and availability
• Answer any questions
• Identify the most appropriate counsellor or service
• Agree the next steps with you
There is no obligation to continue if you decide that Rhema is not the right service for you.
Rhema aims to keep counselling affordable and accessible. Fees can vary according to the type of counselling, delivery arrangement and whether the support is being funded by a partner organisation.
Your fee will always be explained and agreed before counselling begins.
Yes. Online counselling provides the same dedicated appointment time and confidential support as an in-person session.
It can be particularly helpful for people who have limited transport, live in a rural area, work irregular hours or feel more comfortable speaking from home.
Yes. Rhema provides counselling for couples experiencing communication difficulties, conflict, loss of trust, disconnection or other relationship concerns.
Rhema works with appropriately qualified counsellors who are registered with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy—BACP—and practise within recognised professional and ethical standards.
Wellbeing to Work is Rhema’s structured programme for people whose emotional wellbeing, confidence or mental health may be affecting their ability to:
• Prepare for employment
• Return to work
• Engage with education or training
• Manage workplace pressures
• Remain well and sustain employment
The programme brings together practical learning, guided reflection and supportive group discussion.
The programme can include:
• Understanding anxiety and stress
• Confidence, self-esteem and motivation
• Emotional resilience and coping strategies
• Communication and workplace relationships
• Healthy boundaries
• Preparing emotionally to return to work
• Managing change and workplace pressure
• Maintaining wellbeing while employed

Programmes can be delivered face-to-face or online.
No. The programme can support people who are unemployed, returning after sickness or redundancy, beginning training, changing careers or experiencing difficulties remaining well while employed.
Wellbeing to Work is a structured wellbeing and employability programme rather than group counselling.
Individual counselling can be offered separately where someone needs more personalised therapeutic support.
Yes. Rhema works with colleges, employment providers, charities, employers and community organisations.

Rhema has delivered counselling in partnership with First College for the past three years and previously supported Shaw Trust participants between 2020 and 2022.
No. Rhema does not provide emergency or crisis intervention.
